Our Commitment

Committed to the Environment

For our business, sustainability means serving customers and growing the business, while respecting the current and future needs of the environment, society, and the communities where we operate. We achieve this by researching, developing, and using eco-efficient processes and advanced materials, as we provide world-class products and support for the North American construction industry.

Committed to the Environment

Safety

Votorantim Cimentos and its North American operations share a commitment to promoting and maintaining safe work environments for our employees and the communities where we operate, with an emphasis on safety before productivity and profitability.

Community Engagement

We serve as a vital economic engine and active participant in our communities. We are committed to supporting local causes and improving our dialogue with stakeholders, while promoting a better quality of life that creates a more transparent, collaborative and conducive operating environment for business.

Ethics and Compliance

We maintain a strong and enduring commitment to operating ethically and in accordance with laws, norms and regulations. We encourage employees to take part in building this culture to ensure that, as a business, we maintain high levels of integrity and compliance.

Eco-Efficiency & Innovation

We believe that cement, concrete, and aggregates production require a commitment to improving natural resource allocation, controlling emissions, and reducing waste. The company invests in R&D to develop new technologies and improve existing ones to promote eco-efficiency in our processes and products, protect water sources and help preserve biodiversity. One such example is an Algae Bio-Reactor Sustainability Project located at our cement plant, in St. Marys, Ontario, Canada. In partnership with the National Research Council of Canada and Pond Technologies, we’re exploring the viability of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from industrial facilities, transforming these emissions into valuable products including biofuels, fertilizers, and animal feeds.
