Performance-based Concrete Mixes

High Performance Concrete

High Performance Concrete (HPC) refers to concrete with a specified compressive strength of 6,000 psi and greater. By carrying loads more efficiently than normal-strength concrete, high-strength concrete can reduce the total amount of material placed and lowers the overall cost of the structure.

Self-Consolidating Concrete

Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC) is a highly workable concrete mixture that can be placed in restricted structural elements and compacts by means of its own weight without vibration. Superior Materials’ SCC mixes use a system of optimized aggregates, cements, and admixtures including a “super-plasticizer” that keeps the mix very fluid during the pouring process without aggregate separation or compromising the material’s ultimate strength.

Structural Lightweight Concrete

Lightweight concrete for structural applications has a density of 90-115 lb/ft³ compared to normal weight concrete of 140 – 150 lb/ft³. Made with special lightweight coarse and fine aggregates and air-entrained, structural lightweight concrete provides a better fire rating and a higher R value which offers better insulating qualities for wall elements. Additionally, lightweight concrete also reduces the number of structural elements thereby reducing the over-all building cost for a given structure.
